These articles are a licensed entertainment, and this is the fine print, only bigger, so you can actually read it.
I’ve been involved in helping people – and companies are people too – to claim the SR&ED tax credits since 1994. (SR&ED stands for the Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax incentive program. We pronounce it “shred” because the full name is quite a mouthful. Quite often, I leave out the ampersand (&) just because it is visually distracting, and not strictly necessary for understanding.)
I know some things, maybe less than I think, and I have formed opinions, which I am happy to share. These are just my opinions, written down to entertain, and perhaps to provoke discussion and thought. I believe I’m right, quite often, but I make no promises. Really. Talk to your accountants: they get paid big bucks for being right. They may agree with me. That would be nice. Meanwhile, I hope you find these articles entertaining and stimulating. In particular, I hope they’ll stimulate you into finding out more about the SR&ED program, and whether you and your company are entitled to make a claim.
Your tax dollars, coming home again. That too would be nice. Enjoy.
Best regards,
Bruce Madole
